8월 중에, 베이스에서 세 차례의 수련회를 가졌습니다.
In August, we held three retreats in our mission base, Mt. Elgon. 

1. 청소년 수련회 Youth Retreat (9th-11th)
주제는 ‘감사’였습니다. 하나님께 ‘감사’와 ‘찬양’이 같은 단어 인 것을 함께 공부하고, 연습 했습니다. ‘하나님 아버지의 사랑의 편지’로 묵상하고,‘감사의 답장’도 썼습니다. The theme of the Youth Retreat was “Thankfulness=Praise.” They read ‘Father’s Love Letter,’ during personal devotion time and wrote the ‘Thank you letter’ back to God. 200 youth attended. 

2. 여성 수련회 Women’ Retreat (16th-18th)
“여성의 지혜는 하나님의 축복이며, 가장 큰 지혜는 하나님을 경외하는 것이다. 그 지혜를 잘 사용하자.” “모든 일을 믿음의 지혜로 잘 응용하고, 하나님이 주신 귀 한 믿음과 위치를 존중하여 그 뜻을 헤아리자.” 어머니, 부인들의 믿음과 지혜로 나라가 번성하고, 교회가 부흥하며, 가정이 살아나고, 자녀들이 잘 된다. “Women of Wisdom” is the blessing from the Lord. The greatest wisdom is to fear God. So women rededicated themselves to use the wisdom from God for their lives, their families, their churches and for Kenya. 150 women attended. 

3. 목회자/지도자 수련회 Ministers-Leaders’ Retreat (23rd-25th) 선한싸움!! “전쟁은 하나님의 것인 즉: 우리의 승리는 사람을 이기는 것이 아니 라, 주님께 순종하여, 주님의 뜻을 이루는 것이다; 하나님 앞에 믿음과 하늘의 가 치를 지킨다; 사람을 통한 사탄의 방식으로 공격을 당해도, 하나님의 전신갑주, 방 법만 쓴다. 이를 위해, 우리는 체인에 묶여 있어, 기도로 하나님과 통한다.” (엡 6) We had GOA Pastors and Leaders Retreat. The theme was “FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT” (2 Timothy 4:7-8). God says “War is Mine,” so “we keep the faith in the Lord by obeying Him. All fights are for victories to get eternal value. We should not react to people’s visible attacks but we should respond to God by doing good work continuously.” 87 leaders and 23 ministers attended. 

엘곤산 목회자 부부 모임 Ministers & Spouses’ Meeting (Sep 1)
이 달 부터, 현지 목회자들 만이 아니라, 사모들도 한 달에 한 번은 함께 하기로 하였습니다. Since September, we started to have a monthly meeting not only with ministers but also with their spouses.

 

     

마툼베이 교회 성전 대지 Matumbei Church Land
2017 년 3 월, 마술사들의 마술로 인한 화재가 기도로 중단 된 사건을 계 기로시작된마툼베이교회. 피해자가족들이한나무밑에모여서,첫 예배를한이후1년이되었습니다. 성도들이마음과헌금을모아대지 를 매입했습니다. 소유권 이전은 마쳤으며, 시공을 준비하고 있습니다. Matumbei Church was established in March, 2017 after the people of Matumbei experienced the power of prayers to stop the fire caused by witchcraft. They finally purchased a land for church building by themselves and got the title of ownership. The church construction will start in late September. 

깔레문양 교장 선생님들과 만남 Meeting With Kalemnyang Principals
매월 첫 주간에 학교의 교장 선생님들과 만나, 식사하며, 학교 사정과 현황을 함께 논의합니다. 작년부터 부족한 예산 으로 프로젝트 들을 지원 해 주지는 못 하고 있지만, 교사와 직원들의 사례비와 식량, 그리고, 장학금을 꾸준히 지급하 고 있습니다. 새학기를 시작하는 학교에 한 학기 분 식량도 보냈습니다.
We had a monthly meeting with Kalemnyang principals to discuss about school issues and management. At the present, we cease to support any school projects due to our limited budget. However, with our budget, we are stable to support salaries of teachers, scholarships of high school students, and their foods. We have sent corns and beans for a new semester food supply. 

새 학기 시작 New Semester in Universities 우수대학생장학금지급이3년째입니다. 올해는10명의신입생이 늘어서, 총 22 명이 되었습니다. 현지 청소년들에게 귀한 동기 부여가 되 고,이렇게할수있는형편을주신주님께감사합니다. 새학기가시작되 는 8월 마지막 주일에, 장학생 16 명이 베이스 교회에서 함께 예배하고, 담화하고, 축복받고, 장학금을 지급 받았습니다. 안타까운 일은 두 학생 이혼전임신문제로제외되었습니다. 우리선교회교회외에,지역마을 에서 있는 장학금 후원 모임에도 세 대학생들을 후원 해 주었습니다. This is our third year to sponsor the University students. This year, 10 new Freshmen were added. Therefore, we give scholarships to 22 students now. Unfortunately, two students were removed from scholarship list this time due to pregnancy matters. We also participated and supported Community Fund-raisings for University students. We really thank God for His mission to support these students.
